South Shore CCSA

The South Shore Cohesive Commercial Statistical Area (CCSATM) includes eleven communities located between Boston and Brockton. Anchored by Braintree, Quincy and Weymouth, the South Shore CCSA has a population of more than 315,000 and a resident work force of 180,000. Its residents are well educated with household incomes above the state average.

The South Shore is a vibrant and economically diverse region that is home to many small and medium-sized businesses. Long a major retail center, the region has emerged more recently as a center of the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate industry. Prominent South Shore institutions include: State Street Bank, South Shore Hospital, The Stop and Shop Companies, and Talbots. The region enjoys convenient access to several major highways including I-93, I-95/Route 128 and Route 3, a benefit to residents and businesses.
